This is a very common one! Many people believe that their hair ‘gets used’ to their shampoo. In our experience, that’s not quite the case. ‘Greasy’ hair is caused by a build-up of the natural oil produced by the scalp on the hair. Washing the hair too much (you shouldn’t really wash your hair every day!) strips this oil from the hair, which is thought to encourage the scalp to produce more oil – hey presto, greasy hair faster! But this isn’t the hair adapting to the shampoo. Constantly touching and playing with the hair can transfer oils from the hands to the hair, contributing to greasiness. So if you’re shampoo is making your hair super-soft to touch, caressing your luscious locks might be to blame for it looks a little on the oily side.
